COURSE DESCRIPTIONS:

FIRST AID & ADULT/CHILD/INFANT CPR

9-hour course trains individuals and families to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations such as respiratory or cardiac problems, sudden illness, or injuries to adults, children and infants. Upon successful completion students will receive two certifications: Adult/Child/Infant CPR and Standard First Aid.


ADULT/CHILD/INFANT CPR

6.5-hour course designed to train individuals and families to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants. Individuals will learn rescue breathing, obstructed airway and CPR skills.


COMMUNITY/ADULT/CHILD/INFANT CPR REVIEW

4-hour course designed for those who completed Community CPR, Adult CPR, and Infant & Child CPR whose certification is due to expire. Participants will be asked to demonstrate competency in skills at appropriate level.


FIRST AID & ADULT/CHILD/INFANT CPR REVIEW

4-hour course designed for those who completed Community First Aid & Safety or First & Adult/Child/Infant CPR and whose certification is due to expire. Participants will be asked to demonstrate competency in skills at the appropriate level. Successful candidates will receive re-certification in Adult/Child/Infant CPR & First Aid.


FIRST AID BASICS AND FIRST AID REVIEW

4-hour course teaches individuals to respond quickly in an emergency for adults, children and infants. The participants will learn first aid for broken bones, bleeding, burns, poisoning, shock, stroke and seizures.


FIRST AID/CPR/AED INSTRUCTOR COURSE

12-hour course trains individuals as instructors for the following courses: Adult CPR, Child CPR, Infant CPR and First Aid and the different accepted combinations of components. Instructor candidates must be familiar with Adult/Child/Infant CPR and First Aid and be prepared to demonstrate those skills, take a written exam and perform practice teaching.


CPR FOR THE PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR COURSE

8-hour course trains individuals as instructors in CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Instructor candidates must be familiar with Adult/Child/Infant CPR for the Professional Rescuer and be prepared to demonstrate those skills, take a written exam and perform practice teaching.


CPR/AED FOR THE PROFESSIONAL RESCUER

8-hour course designed to teach professional rescuers (all those with a duty to act and provide care) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies, including the use of an automated external defibrillator for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. (Pocket Mask Included)


CPR/FPR and CPR/AED/FPR REVIEW

4-hour course designed for those who are currently certified in CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Be prepared to take a written and skills exam. Please bring your pocket mask to class.


BABYSITTER TRAINING COURSE

9-hour course teaches youth ages 11 or older, the responsibilities and qualities of being a good babysitter and what is expected from the person who hires them. Ideal for current and future babysitters - teaching them the best ways to be safe and keep the children in their safe care.


WORKPLACE TRAINING: STANDARD FIRST AID WITH PREVENTING DISEASE TRANSMISSION/BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS

7-hour course designed to teach individuals in the workplace the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for injuries, breathing emergencies and sudden illnesses, including safety procedure for exposures to infectious materials/bloodborne pathogens. Upon successful completion students will receive two certifications.


WORKPLACE TRAINING: STANDARD FIRST AID

This five hour course focuses on teaching basic first aid skills for a variety of injuries & illnesses as well as Adult CPR. Participants receive certification in Adult CPR & Standard First Aid.


WORKPLACE STANDARD FIRST AID PROGRAM w/AED SKILLS

This six and a half hour comprehensive course provides the essential knowledge to act in life-threatening emergencies, including: How to determine the safe response to an emergency situation, recognizing and caring for life-threatening emergencies in adults such as respiratory and cardiac problems and choking. Course also covers: Treating injuries including severe cuts and burns, Sprains and strains, Treating sudden illnesses such as poisonings, bites and stings, Recognizing and treating heat and cold emergencies such as heat stroke and hypothermia, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) information and Workplace emergency planning. Participants receive certification in Adult CPR/AED & Standard First Aid.


ALL WORKPLACE TRAINING PROGRAMS COME WITH TWO OR MORE SPECIALIZED MODULES:

Ergonomics: Understand & apply ergonomic principles; identify & reduce risks of musculoskeletal disorders (msd); perform exercises to reduce risk of msd.
Slips, Trips & Falls: Use safety awareness to reduce risk of slips, trips & falls; identify, report & correct unsafe conditions & behaviors; develop a prevention plan.
Workplace Violence Awareness: Recognize categories of workplace violence; identify warning signals; reduce risk of becoming a victim of workplace violence.
Back Injury Prevention: Understand the causes of back pain; reduce risk factors; learn simple prevention exercises; identify ways to avoid back injury.
Your Heart Matters: Recognize signals of a heart attack; identify risk factors for coronary heart disease; develop plans to reduce risk of heart disease.
Managing Stress: Recognize the causes & signals of stress; identify ways to manage stressful situations; develop personal strategies for stress management.


SPORTS SAFETY TRAINING WITH ADULT & CHILD CPR

7-hour course designed to train coaches, parents & community leaders prevent & care for sports-related injuries. Certification in Adult & Child CPR and Sports Safety Training.
